Your iPhone may not always be right next to you, but you may still need to make and receive calls. Did you know that you can make and receive calls using your iPad, iPod and Mac? Here’s how you can do this.

Setting up iPhone Cellular Calls with your Apple devices

To use iPhone Cellular Calls, your Apple devices must meet the Continuity system requirements. Furthermore, the system works when:

• Each device is signed in to iCloud and Facetime with the same Apple ID
• Each device is connected to the same Wi-Fi/mobile data network
• “Allow Calls on Other Devices” on your iPhone is turned on (Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices > Allow Calls on Other Devices)
• “Calls from iPhone” on your other devices is turned on (Settings > Facetime > Calls from iPhone or Facetime > Preferences > Calls from iPhone)

Using Mac

Move the pointer over any phone number in Contacts, Calenda or Safari.

Click the arrow in the box that outlines the number you want to call.

Tap Call [phone number] using your iPhone.

Alternatively, open Facetime, enter the phone number in “Search” and click on “Audio”.

Using iPad or iPod touch

Tap a phone number in Safari, Contacts or Calendar.

Alternatively, open Facetime, Tap “+”, enter the phone number, and tap “Audio”.

Using Mac: A notification appears every time you receive a call on your iPhone. You can use your Mac to answer the call, message the caller and even send the call to Voicemail.
