Spending way too much time on social media apps? Are emails and notifications distracting you? Here’s an easy way to eliminate procrastination once and for all, without deleting any apps.
Set up Digital Wellbeing
Digital Wellbeing is an Android function that helps you get back control and check how much time you spend on your phone. It is built-in in most Android phones, but you can also download it from the Play Store.
The best thing about Digital Wellbeing is that it breaks down the time you spend on certain apps. This way, you can decide which apps you want to spend less time on. Digital Wellbeing also allows you to limit the time you spend on certain apps using the App Time Limit option.
If you have that’s Android 9 and up, you can find Digital Wellbeing in your Settings. Then turn on “Show your data” in the app list. The first time you open Digital Wellbeing, you need to set up a profile. You can also turn on “Bedtime” mode – which silences your phone and switches the screen to black and white after bedtime. Additionally, you can turn on “Focus mode“; which pauses distracting apps and hides their notifications.
Add the screen time widget
You can also add a screen time widget to track how much time you spend on certain apps every day. To add this widget, simply touch and hold the home screen. Tap on “Widgets.” Then, touch and hold the screen time widget. Finally, move the widget to an area of your screen. This way, you can learn how to disconnect by keeping an eye on your screen time.
